Collection: Foraging Toys

Chinchillas are natural foragers. The majority of their diet should consist primarily of hay to help with their digestion and their teeth. A great way to encourage your chin to eat even *more* hay is to make it more interesting and interactive for them by incorporating hay into their toys. If you watch your chinchilla closely, you will notice they will end up eating a good deal of hay as they nose through the hay to look for a flower petal or gnaw on an additional bit of wood.

Some foraging toys come already assembled for you. Or you might want to consider assembling a toy for yourself depending on your chinchilla's preferences. For example, grab a willow basket, a few grapevine toys, and a pinch of your chinchilla's treat of choice. A tiny pinch of rose hip shards scattered in the basket with a few new chew toys along with your chinchilla's normal hay will get them interested in nosing through it!
